It is not that I die when I watch a funeral;
death passes and is risen vertically
my life
--though no chore takes me off that procession.
There I go -kicking a ball along the street,
ignoring the funeral processions coming after me .
And I am four
and fifty...
and a day in which I fail to ponder
The musician dreams
of a house of letters
and a paradise of colours
I dream of sounds swinging in the air
between distant trapezes
I dream words
of faces never alike
just as if each spectator left
a reflection of their own eyes
words of musical body
wisely written letters
Alphabet of wood and water
Unexpectedly illumined
Life is a pyramid
Built in just one stroke
Which starts and ends on the horizon
